"When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy". They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."
Welcome to my photography website. I am your host, Jerry, a software developer currently working and residing in Toronto, Canada. I grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and went to Vancouver to pursue my education. I later moved to Toronto and completed my Honors Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in computer science and economics at the University of Toronto. I am a passionate photographer who enjoys roaming the city and taking pictures. Through the pictures you will find my own form of expression, my personal interests, and my love of photography exhibited in this website.
How I Started
"I can't sing, I can't paint, and I can't write how I feel, so all I have left is photography to express myself"
I received my first digital camera, a Fujifilm F601, as a gift from my parents in 2002. It was a point-and-shoot camera and it has captured many wonderful moments of my life. Because of it, I started to develop an interest and passion for photography. In 2006, I bought my first digital single-lens reflex camera - a Canon Rebel XT (350D). The beauty of photography is that it allows one to share visual and emotional experiences with others. When the subject is the sea, it reveals the silken flow of ocean waves. When the subject is a flower, it proclaims the beauty of vivid color. When you are the subject, it provides a glimpse of your captivating smile with intimate fidelity.

I was never convinced that there exists a best photographer or a perfect photograph, as each picture brings with it a special story or significance. Some photographs make a statement while others ask a question. Some people are attracted to the lucid while others are drawn to the opaque. Some photographers reproduce scenes faithfully and truthfully while others paint it with imagination and emotion. In this website, you will find some of my favorite photographs. I hope you find something of interest during your visit.
